"THE WILD, THE BURGER, THE CATCH, THE WINGS”

Wondering what I am on about? Well that’s the fare at The Wild! From burgers to fish and chips and…truffle fries, all under one roof.

This wild-looking, funky, colour-dazed joint, with pink-clad crew speeding up an up-beat burger in a small hole in the wall, so reminiscent of trendy eateries. The artful gallery which hugs both sides of the stairway leading to the dine-in level upstairs, adds another dimension to this restaurant. As I sat down to dinner I was wrapped in a wall art dining room that felt intimate and personal. All of these the brainchild of Chef Jun.

I started with wings, an all-time favourite of many. There was original, tangy, salted egg, cheesy and sweet n sour. Something for every taste bud. My favourite was the tangy – gooey and sticky, it was finger licking good.

As with the wings there was a huge variety of burger styles too. I of course wanted a taste of it all. I decided to try four of the eleven available. The garlic chicken patty had a crunchy batter while the chicken was so tender on the inside. The signature Wild Burger was of course a must as it is made from freshly ground Angus beef.

Moving to a more Asian slant I tried the Nyonya burger for those who like a bit of chilly and pickled achar on their beef patty. Different and delicious! The Hawaiian Burger of course came with pineapple accompaniment and that offered a treat in itself to those who love this sweet and tangy flavour.

To accompany all this I had the truffle fries. A bit of luxury to top a burger meal, one I was very appreciative of. I wish I could have tried the fish burger as it looked good on someone else’s tray. To this end, The Wild had a constant flow of customer as we chomped into our dinner. Popularity testifies to the quality of the fare I guess.

Pescatarians be assured there is something there for you too. Fish and chips under the same roof! And sides of corn, onion rings and fries. I had not drunk a fizzy cola for years but decided to have a root beer which took me back to my old days at school, when that was such a treat!

If you love food and art you’ll get it all at The Wild. From someone who is a foodie with a penchant for the best this will be a total treat!
