Bert's Bar and Brasserie Sydney

Published - 24 July 2022, Sunday

A light-filled bar and brasserie overlooking Pittwater and the grounds of The Newport. Executive chef Jordan Toft’s coastal European menu has something for every occasion. Order a light meal from the bar menu, or dine in our restaurant. Start with something from the Oyster Bar – caviar, dressed crab or crudo. For mains select live lobster from the tank, or whole fish, beef, poultry or pork that’s either roasted in the charcoal oven or over the Basque grills.

If you don’t want seafood, there’s Brooklyn Valley grass-fed rib eye and Rangers Valley grain-fed T-bone served with roasted aromatics. And pork rib for two with peach glaze and garlic flowers. To accompany your meal, the larder table has a selection of seasonal vegetables and salads are served from a white-marble larder. The Avocado Bert is a dish of creamy avocado, chopped egg, tarragon, chive and chervil. We have an extensive wine list curated by group sommelier Franck Moreau MS, and a cocktail list with our take on the classics. Video Credit: Merivale  Image Credit: Bert's Facebook Page

Great place to come and take in the beautiful views and love that we are welcome to bring our pup with us. Food is great and cocktails are really good too. Great atmosphere we have been here several times and we will return many times in the future.

Group sommelier MS Franck Moreau has taken care of the 750-strong wine list (divided equally between Australia and Europe). Cocktails are classic and inspired by grand European hotels and American country clubs. The champagne bar has a long list by the glass, and by the bottle.
