Grand Hyatt Singapore pays tribute to all mothers with themed dining experiences exclusively on 8th May 2022.

For mothers who enjoy the vibrant and colorful Singapore’s rich food culture, StraitsKitchen halal-certified buffet will showcase Mother’s Day specials at SGD 88 for lunch or dinner, and SGD 50 for the afternoon tea. Children from 4 to 12 years old can enjoy child prices at SGD 45 and SGD 25 for lunch or dinner, and afternoon tea respectively.

From its multiple live show kitchens to friendly chefs handing out delectable fare, the buffet spread at StraitsKitchen offers a unique culinary experience for the whole family. In addition to an array of cuisines from the Malay, Chinese, Indian, Middle-eastern, and Peranakan stations, the Mother’s Day-themed menu will feature exclusively curated dishes this year.

A seafood claypot special will be served at every table, underscored by premium ingredients such as abalone, sea cucumber, dried scallop, tiger prawn, flower mushroom, and broccoli. Other exclusive dishes include wok-fried mud crab with meaty chunks of crab meat tossed with creamy salted egg yolk sauce, chilli, and curry leaves.

Chinese signatures include the crispy chicken with fruit salad topped with tangy lime sauce, braised glass noodles with crunchy tiger prawns simmered with dried shrimp, mushrooms, bean sprouts, and oyster sauce.

The Malay section presents exclusive items such as Ikan Goreng Belacan, a fleshy barramundi broiled with dried shrimps and local spices, and the Udang Bakar, grilled sustainable Spencer gulf prawns marinated with chilli and aromatics. Other Malay savouries include sambal squid, beef rendang bathed in rich coconut cream, and Ayam Buah Keluak, kampong chicken with blue ginger and infused with black nut gravy.

Relish the addition of Tandoori crab kebab from the Indian section, which is mix of crabmeat, yogurt, spices, and cashew nuts, resulting in a tantalizing and inviting dish. Don’t miss out on the tasty fish dum biryani at the Indian station while combing through the buffet counters as well.

Lastly, mothers will love an array of traditional desserts such as the cheng tng and Peranakan treats such as assorted Nonya kuehs, kueh lapis, and more. Cold desserts include ice kachang, chendol, soft-serve ice cream, and a variety of seasonal fruits. The buffet includes free-flow of freshly squeezed orange juice, chilled juices, and local beverages such as Bandung, Teh Tarik, Teh Halia, and Kopi Tarik as well.
