The Westin Singapore has reaffirmed its commitment to wellness and diversity as it enters its third year as the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon's Official Elite Hotel. The hotel's "One Race, Many Journeys" program, which emphasises wellness, resilience, and the unifying power of sport, is still ongoing in collaboration with the Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC).

This year's campaign has a great combination of athletes and advocates. Gregory Burns, a Paralympic swimmer, artist, and motivational speaker, has teamed up with Natalie Dau, an ultramarathoner and novelist who holds a Guinness World Record. They will compete in the SCSM 5km and 10km events on December 6 and 7, 2025, with SDSC members with impairments and associates from The Westin Singapore. Their participation represents determination, a shared purpose, and the inclusive spirit of Singapore's running community.

Dr. Teo-Koh Sock Miang, President of SDSC, emphasised the significance of the collaboration, stating that sport acts as a bridge between individuals of different abilities. "Our partnership with The Westin Singapore creates opportunities for persons of all abilities to connect, challenge themselves, and share in the joy of physical activity," she said. "Through initiatives like this, we aim to build a more inclusive and accessible community where everyone can experience the spirit of sport."

A Celebration of Strength, Resilience, and Community

The "One Race, Many Journeys" campaign is part of The Westin Singapore's ongoing efforts to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being in the community. The initiative, inspired by the "Mind Over Miles" fireside chat, focuses on how shared experiences via movement may transcend gaps and foster connections.

According to James Walkden, General Manager of The Westin Singapore, inclusion is key to the brand's ideology. "We are devoted to creating an environment in which all of our visitors may perform to their full potential. That extends beyond our hotel walls into the larger community. Our collaboration with SDSC represents our conviction in the universality of determination and discovery, as well as the power of shared experiences."

Ambassadors of Wellness and Inspiration

Natalie Dau

Natalie Dau continues to inspire runners around the world. As a Guinness World Record holder, author, and ASICS-sponsored athlete, she completed the incredible "Project 1000"—a 1,000-kilometre solo run across the Philippines—and established Singapore's first early-morning run club for people of all ages and abilities.

Gregory Burns, a three-time Paralympic medallist and five-time world record holder, has achieved success outside of competitive sports. His highly regarded artwork has been displayed in over 15 countries, earning him the Sports Artist of the Year Award in 2016. His work was later commissioned by the International Olympic Cultural Foundation for the Tokyo 2020 Games. Dau and Burns reflect The Westin Singapore's concept that wellness extends beyond physical ability and includes courage, perseverance, and human connection.

Beyond the Finish Line: The Westin Experience

The Westin Singapore's involvement with the SCSM extends beyond race day. Runners can purchase limited-edition T-shirts created by Gregory Burns for S$50 at the Race Entry Pack Collection, which will take place at Marina Bay Sands from December 4 to 6, 2025, with all sales benefiting the Singapore Disability Sports Council. The Westin Singapore will also provide signature recovery experiences at the collection site and the post-race recovery zone in Padang, including Normatec 3 Legs with Zero Gravity Chairs and Hypervolt Go 2 massage guns by Hyperice to help runners relax and revitalise.

Participants will also have the opportunity to meet Natalie Dau and Gregory Burns at The Westin Singapore's booth on December 6 and 7. The booth, which is open to all SCSM attendees, features a premium recovery lounge inspired by The Westin's worldwide wellness philosophy: Rest Well, Move Well, Eat Well, Work Well, Feel Well, and Play Well.

Marriott Bonvoy Moments allows members to redeem points for exclusive experiences, such as a three-day, two-night stay at The Westin Singapore for two winners. During their stay, guests will meet Gregory Burns and attend the Elite Athlete Briefing on December 5, giving exclusive access to the core of the marathon experience.

Building a Legacy of Inclusivity

The Westin Singapore's reputation as a wellness and community connection leader grows. Its work with SDSC demonstrates a common goal of making sport accessible to all, regardless of skill, and encouraging everyone to achieve wellbeing through activity. This partnership is more than just a sponsorship; it signifies a long-term commitment to promoting resilience, inclusivity, and shared experiences that drive significant change.

Guests are invited to be at their personal best ahead of the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2025 and to celebrate their achievements in style. Those staying at The Westin Singapore between 4 and 8 December 2025 can book the Move Well: Marathon Package, which offers exclusive benefits tailored for recovery, relaxation, and holistic wellness.
