Next Door Spanish Cafe

This one is actually a pub even though the name suggests otherwise. Cozy and intimate vibes coupled with mouth watering dishes such as pulpo a la gallega (grilled octopus, gambas al ajillo (garlic shrimp) and cochifrito (crispy fried suckling pig) make this the perfect spot in Siglap for a romantic evening with your partner. Apart from these splendid dishes, they also have a boatload of vegan options. Pimiento de Padron is their vegan signature dish which involves peppers beautifully marinated with sea salt. A word of caution though: tread carefully with these peppers. They are extremely hot and fiery, and will surely leave you gulping down gallons of water as you try to alleviate your agony. Put the perfect finishing touches with classic icebreakers in the form of beers, wines, whiskeys or cocktails and call it a night. Image Credit: Next Door Spanish Cafe Facebook Page

Kinara

It doesn’t matter if Kinara is located a little way away from the food hub in Central Siglap. People craving authentic North Indian cuisine won’t mind working up their appetite by taking a slightly longer walk to this traditional Indian food joint. Kinara is probably one of the very few places to have a tandoor with spicy and tangy chicken tikka bursting with flavours- a hot favourite from India. Among others, there is the murgh peshawari, and soft and delicate ajwain machli tikka. Try these and you’ll know that North Indians take their spices seriously. Apart from all these, you can also choose from a variety of crispy naan (Indian Flatbread). Flavours include garlic and mint if you slide that way or minced mutton or cheese stuffed inside if you’re feeling particularly famished. Image Credit: Thekinaragroup.com

It’s all about that (sourdough) bass (read base) at PPS.
