Kota actually stands for “city” in Indonesian but it is best described as Chinatown in Jakarta. Chinese cuisine meets traditional Indonesian spices and condiments at Kota 88. They use ingredients like chilli and coconut milk which serve as perfect palate cleansers to traditional Chinese cuisine. Apart from the innumerable varieties of Masakan Tionghoa Indonesia, they also have a couple of vegetarian options to choose from. Don’t miss out on the signature though: the Nasi Campur Babi is a filling pork rice platter which is bound to leave you burping for hours later. Key ingredients include char siew, roast pork, sweet pork satay, braised pig ear and ngoh hiang (five spice pork roll).
