Established in 1859, the Singapore Botanic Gardens played an important historical role in the introduction and promotion of many plants of economic value to Southeast Asia, including the Para rubber tree.
The Gardens is less than a 10-minute walk from the shopping belt in Orchard Road.
The Gardens showcase the best and most spectacular of tropical flora, including more than 10,000 types of plants and the region’s most significant living collection of documented palms, orchids, cycads and gingers.

We love the Botanic Gardens for many reasons:
- I really enjoy to go for my morning walks in there - green, relaxing, beautifully landscaped as well as options to go into the jungle.
- As a family we love the Saturday/Sunday evening concerts (usually free of charge) where we take our picnic mats along and gather with friends to enjoy the music and food/drinks
- My visitors enjoy strolling through the gardens and the Orchid Garden is always much appreciated. A must if you like flowers.
I would definitely recommend to spend 2 hours at the gardens just to get a good feel of it and see the different features.

Great way to spend a weekend. Wonder through the gardens, have a meal, catch a concert, take the kids to Jacob Ballas Children's Garden... So much to see and do but with a different pace to the bustling city. A beautiful place in such a convenient location.
It is worthwhile going to one of the many outdoor concerts hosted by the gardens. It can get a bit warm, so take a potable fan with you and plenty of water. The last thing you need is to dehydrate.
Not in the same league as Gardens by the Bay, but still very worthwhile and a lot to see. The famous orchids don't disappoint.
Fantastic place to be for all ages, young or old. From exercising in the park to walks and admiring the amazing fauna
I've spent many days running around the Botanical Gardens with my boys. It's so huge you can never see it all in one go, and every area is completely different. A must visit destination in Singapore xxxx
