Jamie’s Italian @ The Forum are well prepared for the year-end holiday season. With a line-up of great cocktails and some sensational festive specials, it is truly a time to consider making reservations.

The peppermint Espresso martini had just the right tone of mint with Kahlua and Espresso that made for a very easy drink to have. I had two glasses which very easily slipped down the slippery slope in my throat and if not for having to run off to a meeting, I might have stayed for another!

The others on my table chose to have the cranberry gin fizz which was lighter and more refreshing. All cocktails if purchased with a food special only cost $15.95. A pretty good deal considering they are larger portions.

As the Chef brought us a Truffle burrata starter, served with grilled asparagus and a porcini glaze, I felt this was an excellent starter to start the ball rolling.

With homemade ricotta and artichoke ravioli topped with brown butter sauce, sage and mushroom, this felt special and befitting of the Christmas time that is about to embrace us.

For seafood lovers, a Venetian seafood stew awaits. With pan fried pink snapper accompanied with clams, squid and king prawn in a fregola sauce, I thought back to times when Christmas in Australia was a seafood fare.

Meat lovers, there are many roasts to choose from the a la carte menu. As always Jamie’s Italian does these tremendously well. I tried the pork roast with crackling and it was divine.

If you are looking for a place to dine over the Christmas period, this menu is available from 11 December through to 3 January 2021. Make sure you reserve as they tend to get booked out fast.

I have a soft spot for Jamie’s Italian, having frequented many of his restaurants in Sydney, London and other parts of the world I was visiting. I always had consistently great fare.

Feeling proud too as I stepped into Jamie’s Italian, as I thought of the number of children Jamie Oliver helped with moving them to good diets. His heart was and still is so in the right place.

With passion and a genuine desire to source the best ingredients, Jaime’s Italian only use sustainable and locally sourced food for their restaurant. Even burrata is made locally with a choice to customize to clients’ taste.

Knowing that I am safe in what I eat at Jamie’s Italian, took half the pain and worry out of the meal experience. I kicked back and left the hard stuff to the Chef and his team behind the scenes.

I knew they knew what they were doing. It was a lovely afternoon of fun, laughter and delight.

My craving for pizza made me think of a takeout from Jamie’s Italian. I had always enjoyed the fare whether it be pizza, pasta or a roast.

Lucky for me, Jamie’s Italian had just launched 3 newly curated combos and more combos for those who wanted beverages included.

It was time to make my choice of combo. Since I was hunkering for a good pizza I made a beeline for the Delicious Pizza Combo which included a pack of crispy squid, two pizzas and two desserts from the a la carte menu.

Having been to Jamie’s Italian before and raved about something as simple as a tomato sauce, I buckled at the thought of a Margherita pizza. The full taste of a freshly-made tomato sauce without any toppings except basil, mozzarella and parmesan – nothing like it!

Another favourite pizza is the four cheese – topped with mozzarella, cheddar, fontal and parmesan with rocket and extra virgin olive oil. Again plain without a lashing of too many toppings gave me the opportunity to taste the full flavor of ingredients used.

A must when the food arrived was a 15 minute warm up in the oven. This I admit made a world of difference. I do it for all take outs as I am a stickler for hot food and will easily reject anything that isn’t piping hot.

The crunchy squid was so yummy with a splatter of chilli, garlic and parsley and the not-to-be-missed aioli dip. I ordered a side of sweet potato fries too as Jamie’s Italian does make them well. So heartened when I see them on a menu as they provide a healthy alternative to the stodge of spuds.

Time for pizza and we ravaged the lot in a matter of minutes obviously with a few knockbacks of wine. The perfect combo to a lovely dinner at home – so convenient and a feeling that I’ve brought Jamie home!

For those of you who might prefer pasta to pizza, the famous prawn linguine at Jamie’s Italian is to die for. Why you might ask? It’s the tomato base again that makes all the difference.

Having had it on a previous take out, the pasta held well even after a quick heat up in a pot. This was important to me as I love pasta only when it is cooked al dente of course and this was.

So if you are hunkering for a pasta you could opt for the Perfect Pasta Combo which includes a side of chips, pumpkin arancini, two pastas and two desserts.

It was time to cleanse the palette with something sweet. Steering away from the usual Tiramisu I decided to go for the molten chocolate praline pudding. It was so good I would order two of these, next time I do a Jamie’s Italian take out.

The Torta di Nada, a blueberry and olive oil cake topped with whipped cream, honey and orange zest which were packed separately tasted like a blueberry muffin.

What I loved about this dessert is how light the orange zest made it. A refreshing way to end a lovely meal from Jamie’s Italian.

Order your food in advance with pick up round the corner in front of Hard Rock Café. All for your convenience till 9pm daily. If you are located close enough to Jamie’s Italian Forum free delivery for minimum orders is also on offer.

So consistent in terms of food quality, I would confidently recommend Jamie’s Italian on your next take out night.

Both his restaurants are set up with ambiance. The one at Vivocity has great atmosphere onlooking the harbour. However, the staff tend to tell you there may be up to an hour waiting time and yet you see they aren't too busy or plenty of empty seats. If you do get a chance to eat there, the food and drink is excellent. The atmosphere isn't the same as the one on Orchard, but still set up quite quaint.

I took the boys in for a meal last week to Forum outlet and I would say we loved the meal. We had the basics. Pasta, Pizza and some drinks. The services was excellent. The staff are so attentive and have a happy attitude, I would have no problem with sharing my experience with friends and will be back for sure

I had a terrific lunch here last week. The service was spot on and the meal itself was huge. The servings here are generous, to say the least. There is a new item coming on the menu to honour National day here in Singapore. It is a deconstructed Chicken Rice. Look out for it 1-13 August 2017

I thought the food was quite overrated. Have had better elsewhere with equivalent prices.
