ALATI

Published - 03 November 2021, Wednesday

ALATI, or salt from the ancient Greek word ἅλας, takes great pride in serving only the freshest produce wild-caught by the hands of the fishermen at the Aegean Sea.

Donning its traditional uniform of blue and white, the casual and comfortable restaurant with an ambiance reminiscent of Cyclades opened its doors for business on 30th September 2015.

Everything in the menu, from the meat to the pastry to the bread, is made painstakingly and meticulously by hand.

Alati means ‘salt’ in ancient Greek and this modern Greek restaurant pays homage to the Aegean Sea. Expect hearty unpretentious food and authentic dishes like Greek octopus and souvlaki (marinated and grilled chicken skewers). If feasting in a group, try the Greek langoustines with Mykonian-style pasta, a tangy and fresh seafood dish that will appease the biggest critics.

I've been to Greece a few times and this place really makes you feel like you're there! The food is to die for, really authentic Greek style menu. Highly recommended to get that Mediterranean taste!

Service is great here. Attention to detail doesn't always mean $$$$. Although not so cheap but affordable for Singapore standards. The room is cool and inviting and the music is not too loud so you can have a good conversation without having to raise your voice. Bread basket with a selection of sea salt, balsamic and Chili in a velvety olive oil is to die for.
