As the saying goes, familiarity breeds contempt. Maybe it's just the right time of the year to mix up your dining options, in or out of the safety and comfort of your own home.

Dininf in is here to stay although strange as it may seem, there’s no dearth of options when it comes to finding new dining offerings in Singapore. In fact, here are some recently opened restaurants which we take our hat off to and say, Go for Gold!

All the way from Brooklyn, Lucali BYGB is the place to be if you’re in the mood for some finger-licking Italian fare. Though they are known for their 18-inch pizzas and their tummy-filling calzones, they also serve a variety of pastas including a delicious lasagna. Drop in even for a drink and a snack of olives from Santa Barbara Olive Co., oysters or caviar.

If sustainable seafood is what tickles your fancy, then head over to Luke’s Lobster. All the way from New York, Luke’s Lobster claims to get their seafood directly from the fishermen, ensuring the freshness of their lobster which is then served in a variety of different ways. The dining establishment is known for their lobster rolls in particular - toasted and buttered buns filled with mayo, lemon, a range of spices and of course, the scrumptious lobster. They also serve crab rolls and shrimp rolls, in case lobster isn’t your thing.

BAR MILANO

If you enjoy eating at Pasta Bar, Papi's Taco or Employees Only, then check out the newest venture by the SJS Group - Bar Milano. As the name suggests, it is an Italian bistro and a cocktail bar. Here, you can find innovative new dishes such as fried pizza with a variety of different toppings including truffle smoked ricotta and wild mushrooms. You can also check out their burrata with honey roasted peaches, or their baby snapper stuffed with olives, kale and cherry tomatoes. It’s a cosy place to sip on a drink while you sample some mouth-watering dishes. Brunch on Saturday and Sunday has been launched so book ahead.

If you’ve ever had one of the soft, melt-in-your mouth burgers at Shake Shack, then you know that the opening of a new outlet at Orchard Road is cause for celebration! The new outlet will have an open-air patio that harkens to the origin of Shake Shack in Madison Square Park. They will also have a beverage focused grab-and-go station which will serve world-exclusive hand-shaken and sparkling lemonades, local craft beer and cold brew.
