Green tea lovers will definitely have Tsujiri Tea House on their radar! Founded in Kyoto, this tea house is all about the green (we mean matcha, of course)! Touted as the best Matcha soft serve in Singapore, they also serve up Houjicha, and Vanilla flavors – you can have it straight up, with toppings, or served as a float.

1860, the end of the ancient Edo period, was also when the TSUJIRI brand was first founded and established by Riemon Tsuji in Uji, Kyoto, Japan. Riemon tapped into his own wealth to improve the tea industry by advancing and innovating methods to enhance the flavours and sweetness of the tea, in order to produce the highest quality Gyokuro tea leaves.

He also created a tea cabinet to prolong the freshness of the tea leaves, which means that TSUJIRI’s teas are equally fresh as those found in other parts of Japan. Riemon’s efforts were well-recognised by many and a statue was built in his honour in Byodoin, the world heritage temple in Kyoto.

Since ancient times, green tea has been known to have soothing effects and health benefits. In recent years, research has deemed it to also be anti-aging and an anti-cancerous agent. Not only is green tea rich in vitamins A, C, E, it also contains beta-carotene, one of the best antioxidants. Furthermore, it is rich in catechin, which helps to burn calories, allowing for full enjoyment of its rich nutrients at low calories.

For more than 155 years, TSUJIRI’s philosophy of offering the highest quality green tea has remained unchanged. It is achieved through painstaking selection of only the best green tea leaves from the renowned harvests of Uji in Kyoto, and processed through the traditional method of grinding to bring out the strongest aroma and flavour.
