Origin Grill

Origin Grill

The first one in the list of places specializing in Japanese Wagyu is one that also prides itself on its Angus cuts which are equally good if not more as their Wagyu counterparts. The ribeye beef cut of Olive Wagyu originally from Kagawa in Japan is exceptionally decadent and buttery with a zesty flavour of olives that will be quite a burst in your mouth. Some other beautiful cuts are featured in plates like the A 4 Snow Aged full blood wagyu and the A4 Kagoshima Wagyu. Image Credit: Origin Bar & Grill Facebook Page

Ushidoki Wagyu Kaiseki

The fine folks at UWK use a special variety of  farm raised Ozaki Beef hailing from Miyazaki. A little bit of history: Ozaki beef is a special variety of beef raised in a farm owned by Mr. Muneharu Ozaki. He started his own farm by raising 100 cattle and toiled tirelessly for 30 years to develop his signature beef. Ozaki is famous for adding unconventional ingredients like charcoal and seaweed to the mix to create thin, long and lean cuts of beef which are just as tasty, or probably even more depending on your preference. Some signatures include the ten course Tongue to Tail Ozaki Beef menu which includes primary and secondary cuts of beautifully marbled meat. Image Credit: Ushidoki Wagyu Kaiseki Facebook Page

Gyu Bar

The Gyu Bar

The exhaustive variety of succulent wagyu beef at Gyu Bar will leave your eyes popping out of their sockets and make it impossible to choose one. Don’t worry. You can just call for the nine-course Japanese Wagyu Omakase Meal starting at $238. Some varieties to check out here include the Wagyu Katsu with homemade curry which comes with a sirloin cut of Tankaku beef from Iwate. Another hot favourite from the omakase menu is the Yakiniku Platter. Devour mouthfuls of chuck rib, chateaubriand and sirloin cuts from Miyazaki beef roasted to perfection over the grill. Wash all of this chunky protein with a complimentary glass of sake available by the side of the restaurant and call it a night. Image Credit: The Gyu Bar Facebook Page

Fat Cow

Fat Cow

The only way you can get away with using the term “Fat Cow” for a name is if you own a restaurant which serves the best possible meat in the whole city. If you’re awfully hungry and can’t think of what to order, it’s best to keep it simple with the wagyu omakase, but if you’re out with friends and are in the mood to try out new things, then definitely opt for the Chef’s Table Omakase. If you’re in Singapore on vacation this spring season, you should not miss the Haru Matsuri lunch Omakase. It features seasonal springtime ingredients accompanied with a lip smacking Roku Gin and Tonic which you will never need to pay for. One of the hot favourites of this menu is the Wagyu Beef Sukiyaki which comes with three hefty cuts of meat soaked in sukiyaki broth served with Japanese egg yolk, truffle oil and Italian truffle. Seriously, who would want to miss this? Image Credit: Fat Cow Facebook Page
