Origin Grill & Bar is inspired by the origin of flavours, travel adventures and Singapore’s illustrious history of bountiful trade, colonial charm and tropical splendour.

Origin Grill showcases fresh, authentic flavours from curated, unique and quality-driven ingredients.

Menu selections include line-caught sustainable seafood from marine-certified coasts in Indonesia, the Philippines and New Zealand, and a bespoke beef selection featuring grass- and grain-fed, pure-, cross- and full-blooded Angus and Wagyu beef, from Australia and Ireland, and snow-aged Wagyu beef, from Niigata, Japan.

The first one in the list of places specializing in Japanese Wagyu is one that also prides itself on its Angus cuts which are equally good if not more as their Wagyu counterparts. The ribeye beef cut of Olive Wagyu originally from Kagawa in Japan is exceptionally decadent and buttery with a zesty flavour of olives that will be quite a burst in your mouth. Some other beautiful cuts are featured in plates like the A 4 Snow Aged full blood wagyu and the A4 Kagoshima Wagyu.

Chef Damian Piedrahita has been concentrating on vegan cooking for the last seven years and heads up the plant-based culinary team at the Shangri-La Hotel Singapore.

His interest and reasoning; “Dining trends are changing and guests are always looking for healthier food that doesn’t compromise on taste.” 

Chef Piedrahita and his team have churned out some pretty sensational plates of healthy goodness across its restaurants!

At Origin Grill, you will the novel item ‘This is Nuts,’ an intriguing dairy-free starter that likens in taste and looks to camembert cheese, but in actuality, is made from cashew nuts! “Traditionally, camembert is eaten with sweet notes,” explains Piedrahita, who has topped the dish with a thin layer of crunchy caramel and caramelized onions.

The dollop of caviar capers that accompanies the cashew concoction on the plate, offers a tinge of acidity, while the toasted beetroot chip adds a textural crunch element to give it the right touch of completion!
