Terella means “Little Earth”, and they are building their vision of a dream brewery, drawing inspiration from science, a serious love of beer, and their connection to the local land.
They have planted themselves in North Arm, a rural setting between the hinterland and farms of the Sunshine Coast, surrounded by crops and free-roaming cattle. Their concept is based on a sustainable cycle, producing what they need and using what they produce.
Sharing the same shed as the Vertical Farm, they are fortunate enough to be working towards integrating their systems to benefit each other. As the Vertical Farm creates their own water as a by-product from their grow cells, Terella Brewery as a brewery will use all the water they can get to produce the beer they love.
In return, collecting their Co2 from their fermenters to re-inject back into the Vertical Farms grow cells to continue the growing cycles they need to produce fresh greens each week. They have custom-designed their brewery and equipment to suit their style of beers, taking inspiration from Traditional German methods of brewing that create a creamy, frothy head and a full-flavoured but well-balanced beer.
Despite their scientific approach, their rural location keeps them connected to the land, the earth, the elements. Their taproom is a place to relax and enjoy a beer, with plenty of grassy space and farm animals to keep the kids entertained. It’s everything they love about where they live – great beers to enjoy with family and friends, surrounded by their beautiful hinterland and coast.
They have 22 taps onsite, 9 of which are consistently changing. Their range comes and goes throughout the year with a mixture of seasonal & collaboration brews to spice things up. Please keep in mind that things can change quite frequently around at Terella Brewing with small-batch brews, you will need to get in quick.
Supporting local businesses is something they really like being apart of. Each weekend they rotate local food trucks at their brewery Taproom, where people can find something fresh and different to feast on while supporting a range of local businesses. Rotating Local Food Trucks are available on Friday from noon until 7 pm. Saturday and Sunday from 11 am until 5 pm.
There is also live music every Saturday and Sunday from 1 pm until 4 pm. Meet their beautiful rescue farm animals - farmyard located on-site. Only open Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 11.30 am. Image Credit: Terella Brewing Facebook Page
