Amrita's Artisan Bakeology

Bake it till you make it. Amrita shares her thoughts - My passion for baking started as a hobby in my grandmother's kitchen when I was 14 years old. Watching my mum bake for the entire family, I realised how baking and love went hand in hand. From there, my passion grew, and soon enough I was taking over baking for the family. I would spend hours scouring the internet and cookbooks for new recipes to try.

As I grew older and my passion galvanised, I began to take an even more active role in developing my baking skills. As a result, I pursued baking courses, including the one at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York and by the famous cake designer, Julian Angel. It soon struck me that most of my time spent outside of my job as a school teacher was devoted to baking because I loved it so much.

With a little help from friends and family, I took a leap of faith and quit my day job so that I could make baking a way of life. I intend to eventually conduct my own baking classes along with the business so that everyone has the opportunity to eat delicious cakes made from scratch at home. With all these plans and a business to run, everyday brings something new and exciting and I’ve not looked back since starting Amrita’s Artisan Bakeology!
