An International Platform in Myanmar to Taste, Meet & Talk

Published - 13 February 2020, Thursday

Wine Expo Myanmar (WEM) – the international trade fair for wines and spirits returns to Yangon after a greatly successful debut last year.

Organisers are preparing for the The Wine Expo Myanmar™ Edition 2.0, organized by Singapore-based company Asia Expo Services, which will be held as scheduled on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 October 2020 in Yangon, Myanmar.

WEM 2020 is geared for a larger scale, extended product categories with more excitement installed.

WEM19 was a huge success. The 2-day fair attracted visitors who were mostly professional in the Hospitality, Food & Beverage and related industries from Naypidaw, Mandalay, Yangon and regional countries.

The exhibitors were made up of 70 percent overseas companies and 30 percent local distributors. The exhibition showcased a wide selection of wines from Australia, Chile, China, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Spain, locally produced Burmese wines and Japanese sake, to name just a few, along with complementing wine accessories.

In 2020, again, a series of program has been lined up over the 2 day event. Details of seminars, workshops, wine masterclasses, wine course, sommelier competition and wine challenge will be announced in due course.

The economy hub of the country, Yangon, has a large and growing population led by international business and year-round tourism. The market is becoming increasingly sophisticated, and there is no doubt that the Hospitality, Food & Beverage industry are at the core of rapid developments.

WEM20 provides global producers an international business expansion gateway to Asia and Myanmar while Asia and Myanmar importers could source from the latest and bestselling wines, spirits, and solutions from around the globe.

WEM20 continues to offer wineries and Myanmar HORECA an international platform to Taste, Meet & Talk.
