IGNI is a small two-hat restaurant that can be found in Ryan Place, a back alley within Geelong’s CBD. We have had the pleasure of looking after our guests since January of 2016.

Igni is in the heart of CBD Geelong, an hour’s drive south-west of Melbourne. We are perfectly positioned between the iconic Surf Coast; start of The Great Ocean Road, the lush Bellarine Peninsula and picturesque rural western Victoria. We’re surrounded by vineyards, produce and coastline.

A deposit of $50 per person at the time of booking is required to secure your reservation. Should you wish to increase guest numbers, there will be a further charge of $50 per additional head. Should the number of guests’ decrease, any outstanding charges will be refunded on the day of your booking.

As always, each course will remain a surprise and focus on all manner of goodies sourced from some of our favourite producers, so be sure to bring an open mind! Image Credit: Restaurant Igni

Leanne Micallef recommends Restaurant Igni

Impressive, impeccable, delicious. The whole experience was 10/10!

We had the “kitchen bench” seating so oversaw the open kitchen. What a show, watching the precision, efficiency and cleanliness of the food prep. The thoughtfulness into the layout and prep of the kitchen and it all working like clockwork. Marvelling at the cooking over the open fire, jerky and smoked fish hanging from hooks above it.

The numerous petite courses were so unusual, surprising in many ways (and in more ways than not knowing what was coming, as there is no menu. Eg. Smoky ice cream, unexpected frozen cheese), intricate and the novel processes that infused so much flavour explained to you upon serving making it all more intriguing for that first bite. I couldn’t pick my favourite dish. We were given a card at the end listing what we ate, the simple descriptions don’t do them justice and it does omit the array of “snacks” that we had at the start prepared with tweezers, and the last tiny scone/ Jube/ alpine strawberry thing we had.

Impeccable, warm, attentive service, great soundtrack (we were caught shazaaming a track when delivered a course lol), top notch facilities, great wine, great company, what a fantastic night.

It does come at a price though guys so save up those pennies from all these cancelled events for a special occasion.

Just sensational.
