Cosy Corner: Not just another coworking space

Coworking and coliving spaces are all the rage in recent years. Covid has definitely exacerbated that; who wants to work at home with nagging in-laws (*cough* Wifey, I’m not talking about your mum) or who wants to be in a zoom call when your neighbour’s dogs start barking ferociously and letting everybody know you are in a place of residence.

So it’s probably no wonder that coworking spaces have been on the rise in recent times, what with the rise of the open office and its benefits such as greater collaboration, better creativity flows and networking as well to add.

On-demand booking is yet another trend, with workbooths popping up in shopping centres (strangely, at foot of escalators) and flexible work arrangements for the roaming “digital nomad”. So who is Cosy Corner, is it yet another coworking space? Kind of, but you know the sibling that is a bit different from the others? I guess that would be more apt.

Cosy Corner

Instead of coworking, Cosy Corner offers a new and unique product: on-demand private working space. Their spaces are available to use on an hourly basis, day basis and even long term use. If you feel like meeting people you can always leave the door open, if you want some personal time, you can always close (and even lock) the door. It’s a nice touch that the rooms are well equipped, each room had a 24” monitor, dimmable lighting, headphones, ample power sockets and fast Wifi.

Who could it be for?

Who knows?

Perhaps for people who are secretive? Perhaps for people who like to sing to music and do work? Perhaps for true digital nomads who need a quiet workstation? Perhaps for the auntie who likes to talk loudly on the train? Perhaps for the day trader looking at his candlesticks? Perhaps for the businessman who needs to attend meetings back to back?

The possibilities are endless, maybe some people don’t like the open office concept, maybe some people don’t like people eavesdropping on what is for my dinner, maybe sometimes people just want their own space.

Suite of services

The concept of Cosy Corner is definitely unique, but the suite of services provided is typical of a serviced office provider such as complimentary refreshments, snacks, lounge areas, printing services and reception services. From $3.80 per hour There are a total of 26 furnished spaces and 2 types of spaces, a smaller and a bigger room. The rooms are generally ideal for 1-2 persons. Cosy Corner offers various monthly plans that give varying hours of usage per month according to one’s requirements. The base price is $9 per hour but with more hours purchased, the price can go to as low as $4.45. They also have a $39 day pass and the flexibility to offer long term use if needed.

What’s more, as part of their opening promotion, students enjoy an additional 15 percent off the listed prices when they present their student card. You can find out more about Cosy Corner and purchase, or book a slot on their website here
