A Wall of Books with Coffee

Published - 06 June 2019, Thursday

The Huggs-Epigram Coffee Bookshop is a concept store by Epigram Books and Huggs Coffee.

Huggs at the URA Centre, right opposite the Maxwell Food Court, Singapore, is the place for coffee and books. It occupies a space of 980 square feet and is currently the only bookshop to offer only Singapore books. By that, we mean books about Singapore, books written by Singaporean authors or books published by Singaporean publishers.

They currently stock more than 400 titles across the genres – children's books, short stories, novels, biographies, non-fiction, poetry, plays – making the Huggs-Epigram Coffee Bookshop a great one-stop for those who want to read more Singapore literature or visitors to the country who want to bring home a piece of Singapore.

Let's not forget Huggs' famous Singapore-style coffee, which you can savour, along with its delicious menu of meals and quick bites – all at very affordable prices.

A joint venture with Epigram Books, Edmund Wee is making sure the wall of book shelves are well-stocked with Singapore published books, not only those from his productive publishing house.

Authors-in-Attendance: Every week, an author, poet or artist will be at the bookshop during opening hours. The author/artist can use the space to write/draw, or simply use it to gain inspiration.

Visitors to the coffee bookshop are encouraged to get to know these authors and artists – and you can speak to them or get your book signed by them.

These include award-winners such as Anngee Neo, Felix Cheong, Melissa De Silva, Nuraliah Norasid and Ng Yi-Sheng, as well as bestselling authors Jason Erik Lundberg, Balli Kaur Jaswal, Clarissa Goenawan, Teo You Yenn and Sebastian Sim. See the full list here.
