Just because it is haze season doesn't meet you have to keep kids sequestered indoors. Fortunately Singapore is a highly air-conditioned nation...

Most malls "helpfully" have commercial indoor playgrounds.  Although many are free, it would help to take note of off-peak hours to save on fees.

If your child is a bookworm, or if you wish to cultivate one, head for the library. The network of Public Libraries here are excellent, not only is it an outing in itself, but borrowed books can provide for more indoor activities at home.

With hot weather a mainstay here, larger families may like to consider season family passes to indoor attractions such as the Science Centre, museums and the Marine Life Park at Resorts World Sentosa.

As a treat, other indoor activities include ice-skating, bowling or the cinema. Or why not head down to Changi Airport? No air ticket? Watch planes take off or ride the giant slides.

For days when getting out of the house is impractical, use your (and the childrens' imagination) to transform the house into another magical place. Hold a camp, treasure hunt or convert beds into pirate ships. Have a family bakeout, uncover those forgotten board games and jigsaws, embark on massive art or recycling projects or as a last resort, hold a movie marathon!
