The circuit breaker sure put a dent in the sides of most, if not all bars in Singapore. As some slowly re-open let's do our best to support them.

To get you started we have highlighted 5 bars re-emerging to kick start the local bar scene.

Rebel Rebel

Serving wines by the local winemakers from different regions, Rebel Rebel is a wine bar carrying out its own rebellion. Here you’ll find each wine defining its region and bottled in the most organic way; needless to say every sip feels crisp, delicious, refreshing. They’ll begin serving food soon, and we’re looking forward to it - for now it’s wine, bread and cheese plate for us at Rebel Rebel.

Thanks to the strong support from loyal customers, cocktail bar Jekyll & Hyde has taken up new residence at Neil Road after closing their doors on Tras Street. You will find the newly located bar on the 2nd floor of Cheeky, a cafe and restaurant. Graduating from a curation of cocktails inspired by unique Singapore flavours, the next edition menu focuses on twists of classic cocktails, while incorporating funky food ingredients found in everyday life. Sago House

A labour of love, quite literally because the owners of Sago House have built the interiors of the bar themselves. After a long wait, the bar is finally open and is serving amazing house concoctions. Bottled with quirky labels, all six cocktails are worth a try, but we loved their ‘Make Tiki Torches Great Again’, a mix of cucumber gin, toasted marshmallow, pineapple, passion fruit tea and citrus.

New location, new beginnings for IB HQ as it is now relocated to Duxton and is all set to follow the new norms. The charm of the place however is intact and the bar continues to offer a zing in flavours be it their cocktails or bar bites. We settled for their Kopi-O Negroni, a concoction of London Dry Gin, Italian Bitter, Kopi-O infused Sweet Vermouth and nibbled Croque Smoked Chicken. Good old days.

Laut

Grass, Banana, Kumquat, and Soy; the names sound familiar but their definitions will change once you taste these cocktails at Laut. Their Banana is a mix of aged Malaysian molasses, buah keluak infusion, gula jawa, and pisang berangan. Pair it with Laut’s Paddy Chicken made with local frog legs, cereal oatmeal crumbs and curry leaf butter.

Thanks to the strong support from their loyal customers, cocktail bar Jekyll & Hyde has taken up new residence at Neil Road after closing their doors on Tras Street. You will find the newly located bar on the 2nd floor of Cheeky, a cafe and restaurant.

Established in August 2013, Jekyll & Hyde is a whimsical cocktail bar located in the heart of Singapore. Started as a nail parlour by day and speakeasy by night, they have come a long way since, and are proud to be one of Singapore's pioneer cocktail bars.

Graduating from a curation of cocktails inspired by unique Singapore flavours, the next edition focuses on twists of classic cocktails, while incorporating funky food ingredients found in everyday life. Cocktails and bites!

Our inspiration for the IB HQ cocktail bar came through all our research whilst writing all the articles for our website called The Indigenous Bartender, which set off the motion to create our new home away from home.

We are very excited to share that IB HQ is inspired by cosy Japanese bars and secret hide out tea houses.

We will be showcasing our favourite flavour profiles through beverage concepts inspired by our travels and dining experiences. We love to play, experiment and live life to its fullest.

For everyone who has the same mindset, we hope to became a space where you can come and enjoy new flavours, aromas and much much more.

On that note, we welcome you to stop by for few tipples at 76A Duxton Road, Level 2 and join us on our flavour journey, Doors open Tuesdays till Saturday from 5.00pm till 10.30pm.

Limited seating is available so book your seats fast via WhatsApp on +65-9152-4550.
