While 2015 saw matcha green tea powder catapult onto the health food scene, 2016 has bigger and brighter (green) things on the horizon. Introducing Australia’s first specialty matcha café – Matcha Mylkbar – located on the bustling corner of Acland St and Carlisle St. The Matcha Mylkbar is here to inject a much-needed boost of #cleaneating creativity into the St Kilda food scene.
In a bold move, it is entirely plant-based following the eating patterns common to the world’s highest longevity zones, also known as the “blue zones”. But unlike “vegan dining” as it is conventionally perceived, the Matcha Mylkbar menu has been carefully crafted to appeal to more than just the plant-based palate. Image Credit: Matcha Mylkbar

Took my partner for breakfast on her birthday and was looked after by a beautifully kind girl who brought her pancakes with a candle while singing Happy Birthday. Moments like that stay with customers forever and we can’t thank her enough for the entire experience. Delicious food and one hell of an almond latte and mocha. We’ll be back.
