Best New Restaurants in Singapore

Published - 24 June 2020, Wednesday

Dining out is a delight in the Lion City! With its avant-garde culinary scene, and sophisticated palate – it’s no surprise shuttling out for a meal has become extremely popular in the expat community.

Since new restaurants are popping up all the time, our resident gourmands are always on the lookout for the best of the best. This February, we’ve rounded up all our favorites; from Greek cuisine, to a private dining experience, and the best of grills. Bon appetit!

Small’s

Small's

Started in Chef Bjorn Shen’s office attached to Artichoke where he does most of his experimenting, Small’s is preparing to re-open to the public possibly as an omakase counter three days a week. Seating only four, with all bookings coming from the same party, Small’s is probably home to one of the most intimate Chef’s tables in Singapore. The menus change every month, as do the prices! Small's opening menu in early 2020 pre-covid was billed at $500++ for a party of 4 guests. The Post Circuit Breaker menu has yet to be announced. Bookings are expected to open on the 24 July and then on the 24th of the month onwards, and will sell out fast, so book pronto!

Black Marble

Black Marble

It’s all about the steak at Black Marble, founded by Chef Otto Weibel! The grills at this fine-dining restaurant are par none, as Head Chef Jay Siaw specializes in char-grilled cuisine and believes in keeping things simple. Everything is made from scratch, and the portions here are generous! Popular dishes on the menu include their 30-day dry-aged T-bone steak, and an A4 Japanese Kagoshima Wagyu sirloin!
