There are reasons why one looks tired and it has to do with the area under the eyes. There are two main reasons why: dark rings and/or hollowness under the eye pulling the lower eye area down, creating a tired look.

Dark circles are mostly due to genetics, allergies or just lack of sleep are other causes. Aesthetic medical treatments these days are able to deliver fabulous results.

Treatments available are many, depending on presentation:

Chemical peels are used to clear hyperpigmentation and ND-Yag lasers improve darkness and quality of skin under the eye. Latest treatment for dark circles is Rejuran i(eye), using an innovative concept of rejuvenating skin by injecting polynucleotides under the skin.

Polynucleotides stimulate collagen naturally and improve the quality of the skin under the eye. The depression under the eye, referred to as tear trough deformity can only be corrected by a hyaluronic acid filler.

If done by an expert injector, the results are fab vs by an inexperienced injector that may result in sausage like lumps in that area. The improvement is seen immediately after procedure and gets better with time.

Finally a must is daily use of an eye cream specially formulated for dark eye circles. The eye creams help to maintain the results from procedures. Best to get the eye creams from the doctor rather than use OTC creams which usually are ineffective.
