Held every Saturday morning from 10am, the Paddington Markets started in 1973, as a way to connect local fashion designers, craftspeople, jewellers and artists with customers.
Set in the grounds of the heritage-listed Paddington Uniting Church on Oxford Street, the market now has over 150 unique stalls selling fashion, accessories, delicately scented soaps and candles and pictures that inspire. Head to the Paddington Reservoir afterwards for a dose of greenery.
Paddington Markets is a community based market supporting local people passionate about their craft and the local community.
When you visit and buy a product from Paddington Markets you not only support local and emerging designers and their products, you also contribute to providing a warm meal and support for Sydney's homeless and disadvantaged through the Eddie Dixon Centre which is totally funded by Paddington Markets. Paddington Markets is an initiative of Paddington Uniting Church encouraging faith, justice, inclusiveness and creativity.
As Sydney's original art and craft market, Paddington Markets continues to attract edgy designers and artistic traders. Paddington Markets believe; that people matter and their passion and creativity should be encouraged. It's worth supporting small Australian business and designers; Unique good quality local products should be promoted. That with a generous heart and a passionate spirit you can change the world.
