Athlete-Lab

Published - 23 March 2018, Friday

Athlete Lab was first established in 2012 in Singapore and Sydney by keen amateur triathletes, Neil Franks and Michael Flynn.

Both struggling to balance busy working schedules with training for long-distance races, they developed the idea for Athlete Lab from their own desire for a business-district based training facility that offered something more technical and relevant to using spin bikes.

Following the success in Asia-Pacific and with the growing popularity of both cycling and triathlon in the UK over the last few years, Athlete Lab London made its debut at 110 Cannon Street in Spring 2014

"The place to go where every workout is an efficient workout. With realtime feedback on your generated power and cadence, you have every motivation to improve.. be it your endurance, your sprinting or overall power! As a mountain biker, the nature of the terrain means it's near impossible to do interval training with specific power levels - all essential when the focus is improving fitness - and athlete lab is the perfect place for that. Workouts can be designed to work on specific areas of weaknesses e.g. recovery after a short power effort emulating the surge from a steep sharp hill. My customised training program plus MTB skills sessions with trainer Wilson Low at athlete lab have helped evolve me holistically as an athlete and we continue to meet goals and see great results."
