Singapore’s World Class Cocktail Festival transforms the city into a passport-led journey through 21 standout bars and inventive cocktails. From luxury spirits to rising bartending talent, the festival celebrates the craft and culture shaping Asia’s modern mixology scene

Singapore has long held a reputation as one of Asia’s most exciting cities for fine drinking. Hidden speakeasies, polished hotel lounges, and inventive neighbourhood bars form a cocktail culture that is both sophisticated and welcoming. In 2026, that reputation takes on a fresh sense of adventure as the World Class Cocktail Festival unfolds across the island, inviting curious drinkers to explore Singapore one carefully crafted cocktail at a time.

Running until May 31, the festival arrives alongside the prestigious World Class Bartender of the Year Singapore competition. What emerges is more than a series of drinks. It becomes a citywide celebration of craft, creativity, and the quiet theatre of a well-made cocktail.

The experience begins with a passport. Issued with the first purchase from a participating bar’s dedicated World Class cocktail menu, the passport transforms an evening out into a curated journey through 21 of Singapore’s most compelling bars. Each stop offers a signature creation inspired by globally recognised spirits, including Johnnie Walker, Don Julio, The Singleton, Tanqueray, and Zacapa. The result is a trail of inventive interpretations that reflect the personalities of the bartenders behind the counter.

For guests, the appeal lies in discovery. One night might unfold in an intimate cocktail den where citrus and smoke meet in a finely balanced glass. Another evening could bring them to a lively bar where botanical notes and elegant presentation capture the spirit of contemporary mixology. The passport becomes both a guide and a gentle invitation to see more of the city’s nightlife landscape.

Along the way, milestones reward curiosity. Guests who visit five bars unlock limited-edition merchandise from the festival’s featured spirit houses. Reaching ten bars brings a cocktail voucher at Side Door, a venue closely tied to Singapore’s World Class legacy. Those who complete fifteen stops receive an even larger reward, reinforcing the idea that exploration is part of the pleasure.

For the truly dedicated, there is also a grand prize awaiting the first person to collect stamps from all 21 bars. A two-day stay in a Balcony Suite at QT Singapore, valued at around $1,000, anchors the reward. The winner also receives a choice of luxury spirits including Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Don Julio 1942, or Zacapa XO, along with an invitation for two to attend the World Class Bartender of the Year Singapore finals.

Behind the festival sits the global World Class platform, one of the most influential competitions in the drinks industry since its launch in 2009. Spanning more than 180 countries, it has become a benchmark for modern bartending, celebrating not only technical skill but also storytelling, hospitality, and creativity. The Singapore champion will go on to represent the nation in Dubai in September 2026, competing against bartenders from around fifty countries.

That sense of community is deeply felt among past winners. Tryson Quek, co-owner of Side Door and World Class Bartender of the Year Singapore 2025, describes the experience as transformative, shaping the way he views his craft and inspiring him to support the next generation of competitors. For Bannie Kang, also a co-owner of Side Door and a former Singapore champion who went on to win the global title, the opportunity to mentor and nurture new talent adds an emotional layer to the competition’s legacy.

The festival itself reflects that same spirit. It celebrates bartenders as artists, bars as cultural spaces, and cocktails as a shared language that brings people together. For residents and visitors alike, the passport offers a simple but compelling idea: explore Singapore through its glassware.

In a city already known for its dining and nightlife excellence, the World Class Cocktail Festival turns an ordinary night out into a refined adventure. Each stop reveals another facet of Singapore’s evolving cocktail culture, where craftsmanship meets creativity and every drink tells a story.
