Recipient of a 1 star Michelin 2 years in the row, the fusion restaurant is doing something right.

The food was scrumptious and has an interesting take and twist of local flavors. Using premium meats like wagyu beef, it is truly a feat and joy to the tongue to make familiar tastes and smells seems like something totally new again.. The octopus was prepared perfectly at the right doneness. It was soft and tender, not at all chewy. That to me was quite the highlight.

The blue crab curry was also very light to the taste, and went down well with just plain rice.

It's definitely worth a visit and best if you reserve a table as well. It's interior decor has tables far apart enough for privacy, hence the limited table settings. Bear Haw reviewed Candlenut on Facebook

Sample the Satay Kurobuta, Sambal Sotong, and Swimmer Crab Curry or opt for the ‘Ah-Ma-Kase’ at $88 for lunch and $128 for dinner. Be sure to make your reservations well in advance, as Michelin-starred Peranakan cuisine is high in demand!
