Esquina

Published - 01 June 2020, Monday

Inspired by the colourful tapas bars found in Spain, Esquina provides visitors to the culturally-rich Chinatown with an added choice of European cuisine to the ethnic enclave.

Open from Mondays to Saturdays, Esquina serves mainly modern Spanish tapas in a unique location that is surrounded by post-war colonial buildings, hip coffee joints and 'old school' home style restaurants.

Esquina boasts an overall design with both rustic and modern industrial cues that evokes a sense of being in the heart of Spain with its buzzing atmosphere and vibrant setting.

Finding it hard to finish an entire cheesecake? Binge on Esquina’s mini Basque cheesecakes at S$22 for a duo. Order a box of 9 of these and have a feast of this gooey delight that’ll leave you satiated with the feeling of eating an entire cake. Plus, these won’t end up in your refrigerator for sure. The adorable cheesecakes can be easily home delivered to you and so can the splendid Spanish meals by Esquina.

Run by Barcelona-born Head Chef Carlos Montobbio, Esquina is a charming homage to the vibrant tapas bars found in Spain.

Their $34 Uni & Lobster paella (with saffron aioli & sugar snap peas) is not only aesthetically appealing but lip-smackingly delicious.

Head Chef Carlos Montobbio has trained in 3 Michelin-starred restaurants before joining Esquina; a fact that is evidenced in the divine dishes he serves up to customers’ delight.

Very Surpirsed and Very Happy - Esquina - Just experienced a wonderful lunch at Esquina ( China Town) Just 2 friends catching up and over incredible food - we decided on the set menu of 4 courses and each course was wow after wow after wow / we sat at the bar and glad we did as it was a pleasure to watch the head chef and staff preparing the food - it’s not cooking we said it art! Every dish presented with such precision and love - and the flavours were outstanding - 3 menus to choose from so we will be back to try more - the dessert just finished us off rich but light - we’ll done everyone at Esquina you made a normal lunch date an unforgettable pallet wake up x

A unique little spot in in chinatown. Squeezed in on a corner where you can't help be drawn in by the spanish tunes.
