The Masons Table has opened the doors of the Masonic Lodge to the general public. Months of intensive preparation has created a classic, yet contemporary lunch and dinner venue that is destined to become a home away from home for residents, and visitors to Singapore.

Set in a luxurious environment, this unique venue is ideal for both social as well as corporate gatherings. The Masons Table founders are proud to finally announce the arrival of this unique brasserie in Singapore, welcoming all to enjoy the pleasures of a Burgundian lifestyle.

Located in the heart of the CBD in the City Hall and Fort Canning precinct, in relaxed and historical surroundings, The Masons Table serves modern European food, coupled with an extensive wine list. Housed in the historic Masonic Hall, part of the Singapore Heritage walk, guests can enjoy the historic grandeur of the building whilst the intimate and classic design lends itself perfectly for business and casual lunches, dinners and events in a luxurious yet comfortable and convenient setting.

The Masons Table can seat 180 guests and cater to groups of up to 250 people for cocktails. From social occasions to corporate functions, the in-house event planners are available to assist you when preparing for an event. The space has two rooms and a classic standing bar. Also, The Masons Table can be partitioned or opened up to form a big hall.

The set lunch specials change weekly allowing the kitchen to serve freshly picked ingredients and offer you a varied experience with every visit. For events The Masons Table can also custom tailor menus to your requirements. To whet your appetite, a dinner consisting of a sumptuous signature starter: foie gras, braised pear, pink peppercorn gastrique, followed by a classic duck leg confit, potato sarladaises, citrus salad, completed by a sweet crème brulee, with an always crispy caramelized top, making this a meal you will remember and come back for more. For quick snacks at the bar, guests are invited to share a charcuterie platter, or tuck into a selection of pizzas or the popular fiery honey Siracha tossed chicken wings.

General manager, David Bregere says: “The combination of our heritage and our eclectic cooking you will simply not be able to find anywhere else in Singapore. Our unique style welcomes all and has our customers come back again and again.”

The Masons Table has brought together a dream team, one that cooks with brotherly love, strength and truth. David Bregere simply loves restaurants; he visits them, enjoys them and manages them. After a stint in sales, he discovered the food & beverage industry and got hooked.  After a sojourn across the world (from being a barista in London to assistant F&B manager in a 5-star hotel in Bora Bora), David found his way to Singapore in 2011. 

After managing Saint Pierre restaurant, David joined the Victus Group in 2016.

Malaysian-born Chef Ng Chen Khai graduated with a diploma in Culinary Arts from SHATEC here in Singapore, and has spent his career honing his trade and sharing his passion for cooking with some of Singapore's most renowned Chefs, Jimmy Chok and Justin Quek.  Having risen up the ranks, Chef Khai most recently lead the team at the acclaimed Lavo Italian Restaurant and Bar on the roof of Marina Bay Sand and joined the Victus Group in 2018. 

The Masons Table is open Monday to Friday from 11:30am with last dinner orders at 9.45pm, the bar remains open til late; Saturday the restaurant opens at 3pm til late and is closed on Sundays.

Daily set lunch starts at only S$28++ for two courses and S$32++ for three courses; a la carte starters are priced from $14 ++  mains from $24++ and desserts from $10++.  The Masons Table opens its doors for functions, events and weddings during non-operational hours if required.

It is a pleasure to be introduced to a new restaurant in Singapore that has an edge.

The Masons Table is a bright and airy room that caters for an intimate table for two right through to an entire event taking over the nearly 180-seater restaurant. There is a private room attached with a fully equipped bar so perfect also for a private function of product launch, wedding reception etc

The beauty here is the space is divided into areas so if an event is in one area of the restaurant and you are dining in another area of the restaurant, you are not impacted by the chatter of a larger group.

The tables are set with white linen and the service is humbly authentic. The wait staff take their role with pride offering suggestions and caring for the table as the meal progresses.

As a guest of the owners, I can only say what I feel is of most importance. This is unpretentious dining. This is affordable dining, and this is a new take on club dining, although you need not be a "Mason" to dine here.

The location is prominent on Coleman Street located behind the Historic Fire Station which sits on Hall Street.

Stand out menu items on my visit included the Smoked Salmon - it is prepared in a Balik Style which is a combination of a Sous-vide - a method of cooking in which food is placed in a plastic pouch or a glass jar and cooked in a water bath for longer than normal cooking times which gives it a tender consistency. This is then followed by a light blow-torching to give it the smoky flavor which is just divine. Then this Salmon is placed on a bed of poached egg, asparagus and a rich Hollandaise sauce, which is best to just mix it all up and dip your Salmon into the juices and enjoy the mouth-watering experience.

Another standout was the Duck Leg Confit. The skin ever so crisp and the meat just fell off the bone - although on this occasion the meat was moving towards a little dry although it was not quite dry to disapprove... I do like the juices of my duck even when it it Confit. Maybe a light pool of sauce to dip the Salmon taste sensations into to add that level of moisture to the dish would do the trick...

Leave room for the desserts, because there is nothing better than a cleanser to freshen up the palate. I LOVED the steamed Vanilla Pudding. This delight was served with a delicious Vanilla ice-cream with a Caramel sauce.... just perfect along with a long black and that was my envious lunch for this Friday to end the week on a high note.

This new offering The Masons Table...has legs and let’s hope that is walks into the history books of the long-lasting stayers that we love to support here in Singapore.

Excellent value set lunches are available and bookings are advised. They have a huge network of dedicated followers, why not join in and become a regular... I know I certainly will. Congratulations team...excellent execution

Stepping in to this very eclectic restaurant I could almost smell the 100 year old wooden floors that have been maintained and preserved so well. The Masons Table is a wonderful spot for events, where the bar cum cosy dining room seat up to 40 pax and the main dining room could easily do more than 60 pax. I could visualize myself doing a luncheon talk to the clink of glasses as people sipped their wines and enjoyed the delectable food.

As a reviewer of Expat Choice I was entertained to a sharing menu. We started with a charcuterie platter which paired fantastically well with the Pinot Grigio priced at a reasonable $13 / glass. Served chilled on a sunny Friday afternoon this was also complementary to the herbed butter escargots.

A hot favourite starter according to staff was the buttermilk fried mushrooms which could be addictive with jugs of beer on the side. I can see why it is so popular with the lads!

My top choice for the entire meal was the Balik style salmon served with poached egg, asparagus and Hollandaise sauce. If you are wondering what Balik style is (as I was and had to Google mid-way through lunch) here we go.

Selected from the finest deep water Atlantic salmon, then slowly smoked in small batches over a blend of fruitwoods and hardwoods, each fillet is hand trimmed to procure the premium tenderloin cut of the salmon. This cut was traditionally reserved exclusively for the Russian Tsar and his court. The texture was moist and firm, I can see how it was fit for royalty. Priced at only $18 it is a must try!

Moving on from fresh light salmon to pan seared foie gras (which is something I love but never order as it's too calorific for my waist line), I enjoyed the rich and full flavour it affords. Paired with a glass of Dolcetto I am glad I moved to the red grape. Some people enjoy foie gras lightly seared but this was fully cooked which was my preference.

I do judge a good restaurant by their ability to do a perfect duck confit, crispy skin with moist meat. This was cooked true to perfection and served with braised pear. I thought it was very well priced at $24 considering the ambience laced in history of this restaurant.

To lighten the pace of food coming at us, we were served a light vegetarian pizza. I felt the thin crust found only in good restaurants, was outstanding. Remembering by this time, I had stuffed my face with rich and heavy meals, I was glad that we had come to the end of the savoury food trail.

As always looking forward to dessert, I had a quick glance at the menu. Making a mental note I felt I might give the steamed vanilla pudding a miss. How wrong I was! It didn't turn out to be a pudding as such, more a light cake with a not too sweet caramel sauce. Divine! I ate almost all of it as I love a palette cleanser and this did the trick.

The chocolate fudge cake was also lighter than expected but the stunner here was the accompanying raspberry sorbet which happens to be my favourite fruit flavour and sorbets (in my mind) the best dessert anyone could have.

To round it up a cup of coffee and Bob’s your uncle as we say in Australia! A must try for anyone in the Coleman Street area. 2-course and 3-course set lunches priced at $28++ and $32++ respectively it is a real steal, reprieve from the noise of the city.

Perfect for a birthday celebration or a small party, there was a group of 25 Masons lunching there. Perfectly located in the tourist area, I would recommend The Masons Table to friends after a Museum Tour (or any of the tourist sites around there) or for a special celebration like the upcoming Valentines Day!
