Sentosa has seen some awesome free-for-all beach party's over the years, but these days it really does pride itself on quality over quantity.

There are your usual draw cards for food & beverage options like Universal studios located in Resorts World Sentosa. Quayside Isle is a good place to "people watch" and enjoy a wide selection of international cafes and restaurants - all in one place. Then we have family beach retreats such as Palawan and Siloso beaches with loads of cafes and spots to grab a cool beer.

But what about hitting the Island, which is located just a few minutes’ drive from the busy financial centre of Singapore - for some memorable catch-up time away from the throbbing beats of EDM mixes and dare I say...away from joyous little brats screaming on the beach (not yours of course)... and visit some of these more chilled spots that offer a more sophisticated experience.

Panamericana

Panamerica Singapore

This is a slice of heaven when it comes to living and working in Singapore. Located at the Sentosa Golf Club the aptly-named Panamericana bar and restaurant, which overlooks the South China Sea is spread across a 7,000 square feet area has a massive bar and specialises in farm-to-fire cuisine prepared on an Argentinian grill. Treat yourself to a flame grilled steak and order one of the bar’s tongue-in-cheek cocktails. The Grown Up Fanta is a spin on the Aperol Sprtiz. Well worth the tipple. more information here

Bob's Bar is a hidden gem, away from the hustle and bustle of the city over looking the ocean. Their cocktails were unlike what we have tried elsewhere.

Excellent service staff - extremely helpful and attentive; very passionate about what they do here. Great knowledge about wine, cigars, cocktails! Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quieter place to chill out.

We had a bubbly time at the Boaters' Bar. Prosecco at $5 is a real steal! Menu doesn't offer much choice but we did love the nachos. Cool place to unwind. Get there by 5pm because the place gets easily packed by expats and locals
