In our continuing quest to highlight the food and culture of Singapore on Expat Choice, today we turn to our Muslim friends and community and put the spotlight on a selection of Halal restaurants serving delicious menus across the Island.

Halal is an Arabic word meaning lawful or permitted. This term is commonly used in relation to food products, meat products, cosmetics, personal care products, pharmaceuticals, food ingredients, and food contact materials - it is the dietary standard, as prescribed in the Qur’an - the Muslim scripture.

Whether you feel like a plate of piping hot momos, handmade pasta in a delicious sauce, or a medium to well-done steak, there are many Halal restaurants in Singapore to choose from and we’ve listed the ones we love. We’re sure you’ll enjoy them just as much as our Choice reporters do so get ready to dig in with this Expat Choice Collection. Image Credit: So Pho Facebook Page

Sinking your teeth into freshly rolled, handmade pasta in a creamy sauce is a different feeling altogether. Tipo Pasta Bar offers you a delicious range of sumptuous handmade pasta, an option to build your own pasta, and a range of delicious appetizers like Truffle Tramezzini, Mighty Meatballs, and Bruschetta. We are in love with their Beef Ragu with added grated parmesan, caramelised sundried tomatoes and sous vide egg. Sheer bliss!

Burger junkies are going to love FatPapas’ specialty burgers and fries. We are head over heels in love with their Bleu Peppercorn Burger with a chunky beef patty, crispy onion rings, and their homemade blue cheese dressing which is irresistible. Do get their Beef Chilli Fries or if you prefer vegetarian go for their Parmesan Truffle Fries and Big Bello Burger with a grilled portobello patty in a delicious mix of sauce and veggies.
