Southeast Asia’s premier comedy event network, Mad About Comedy presents its biggest and boldest event in Singapore to date.

Comedy Cabaret on Friday, 28 June 2019 (doors open at 7pm, show starts 8pm Sharp) at Singapore Repertory Theatre. Uniting the most risqué and ratchet performers of Singapore, the inaugural edition of the Comedy Cabaret series is set to be a trailblazer in the burgeoning local comedy and performance scene.

Inspired by multi-disciplinary vaudeville theatre, Comedy Cabaret is an inventive hybrid of classic stand-up comedy, stage magic, burlesque, and drag performance. Eloquently localised, the all-star lineup features a variety of award-winning Singaporean performers with headlining comedian Scott Agnew (UK) to close the show.

Hailed one of the best storytellers in the business, Scott Agnew has appeared on TV and radio like MTV and BBC. Audiences can look forward to laughing (and crying) at his edgy brand of comedy that is seared with poignant life experience and challenges the stigmas of mental illness.

The hostess with the mostess taking guests on the ride of their lives will be none other than Singapore’s drag icon and producer of the country’s only regular drag revue RIOT! - Becca D’Bus. Known for her contemporary and daring dance choreography, the graceful Aura Hahn will be delivering provocation and poise with her bold burlesque.

Serving up giggles if guests have not already fallen off their seats are Singaporean comedians Sam See and Stephanie Chan. A fixture in the local comedy circuit (and also ‘little-known’ platforms like MTV and MediaCorp), Sam wows with whip-smart wit and wild jokes. While most known for her slam poetry, Stephanie Chan also transforms ordinary anecdotes into hilarity with unconventional perspectives.

Repping Singapore’s Meta Illusions, magicians Alexander Yuen and Douglas Chia will be amazing audience members with their finest selection of sleek and visual magic, coupled with the dynamism of their unique personalities and styles.

Selling fast, the tickets are available online from $25 to $35. Guests are also welcome to pre-order drinks saving 10% to 20% while booking their tickets online.

Date: 28 June 2019, Friday Time: 8pm to 11pm Location: DBS Arts Centre Singapore Repertory Theatre, 20 Merbau Road 239035 Prices: $25 to $35 Ticketing: https://comedycabaret.peatix.com/

It is all about sharing stories. Scott's no one trick pony and is equally adept at telling stories about his many encounters with tramps, Scottish farmers, wee Glasgow east-end women, his family and generally any of the odd folk he encounters in his day to day life. His eye for detail brings each character to life and highlights the absurdity and bizarre nature of the human species' behavior. With a background in journalism, Scott knows what questions to ask to get to the heart of a person when working as a compere. Often taking the information he's mined from his audiences and going off on a flight of fancy which produces results some comedians could spend hours working on to produce some fine comedy results.

Scott's ability to connect with the crowds put in front of him and befriend them for his time on-stage has marked him out as one of Scotland's finest comperes. His easy-going, laid back manner and friendly approach to stand-up allows him to lull punters into a false sense of security and spin yarns of general sexual misadventure that the audience never thought they'd hear the like of when they left the house that evening.
