What do you think about Cirque du Soleil returns July 5 2019 with a fantasy extravaganza?

Just months after the The Great Moscow Circus thrilled us with its awe-inspiring acts, the iconic Cirque du Soleil's grey-and-white Big Top on Bayfront Avenue beside Marina Bay Sands will be back come July 5 2019

But this time, bigger and better than ever with Cirque du Soleil’s very own highly anticipated Kurios—Cabinet of Curiosities, premiering in Singapore as part of a phenomenal world tour.

Written and directed by Michel Laprise, KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities is a tale in which time comes to a complete stop, transporting the audience inside a fantasy world where everything is possible. In this realm set in the latter half of the nineteenth century, reality is quite relative indeed as our perception of it is utterly transformed.

Kurios—Cabinet of Curiosities combines fantasy with period design, acrobatics and an enchanting original score. The abstract narrative takes place in the latter half of the 19th Century, and draws from the industrial revolution and steampunk era that has inspired its set design and elaborate costumes.

The show opens with a scientist, The Seeker, who like any great mind is convinced that there exists a hidden world, one where the craziest ideas and grandest dreams are all certainly possible.

As he journeys deeper into this fantastical new world, he comes face to face with the various curious characters who inhabit it. This is a trade mark of all Cirque du Soleil’s creations - being taken on a fantastical journey,

You will see contortionists building human pyramids, quirky robots, fearless chair-balancing acts and one bemusing Nico the Accordion Man, whose stretchy accordion costume allows him to bend very low or stand straight up to always maintain optimal eye contact.

The 40 plus-strong cast from 17 countries range from world-class clowns, gymnasts and even yo-yo wizards, and are sure to put on a dazzling visual display.

Together they turn the (“The Seeker's”) steampunk world upside-down guided by an energetic gypsy jazz, electro swing soundtrack.

KURIOS will premier under a new grey-and-white Big Top from Friday 5 July 2019 on Bayfront Avenue, next to Marina Bay Sands

Critics across North America and Japan have been raving about KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities. In an alternate yet familiar past, in a place where wonders abound for those who trust their imagination, a scientist (“The Seeker”) is convinced that there exists a hidden world – a place where the craziest ideas and the grandest dreams await.

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SINGAPORE Cirque du Soleil comes to Singapore with its most acclaimed touring show, KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities. Presented in the intimate setting of the signature Big Top, Kurios ‘is not to be missed on any account’ - The Chicago Tribune. Kurios celebrates the greatest inventions of the 19th century, as audience members are transported into the Curio Cabinet of an ambitious inventor who defies the laws of time, space and dimensions in order to reinvent everything around him. Suddenly, the visible become invisible, perspectives are transformed, and the world is turned upside down
