This is certainly a hidden gem on top of the Hilton. An Italian and Japanese mix and two of my favourite foods now in one. Amazing atmosphere, experienced chef and super friendly staff.

We started our Omakase adventure at il cielo with a gorgeous Amuse Bouche – Truffle Macaron and Smoked Japanese White Tuna Tartar with Seaweed Chip. This was followed by Takibi (bonfire), Fish and Sweet Potato. quite the palate pleaser. The Hokkaido Sanma Fish (only autumn season) from Kyoto was then served with Eggplant Bagna Cauda, Smoked Burrata Cheese, Japanese Ginger Flower, Charcoal Grissini. A delicious and articulate combination of elements. Pigeon has never really been my thing although this incarnation was delicious served with Fresh Porcini, Chanterelle Mushroom, Foie Gras and Porcini Espuma. Next followed a jewel in the crown, the Deep-fried Japanese Scampi wrapped in Cappellini Pasta, Homemade Cappellini, Matsutake Mushroom and a dash of Yuzu Pepper...this really was the main course for us. Italian Sweet Pumpkin Gnocchi with 4 Cheese Stuffing and a Pumpkin Puree topped with a slither of Autumn Black Truffle was by far my favourite dish of the night. Although, the Japanese Mushroom Risotto with Grilled Makomodake, Charcoal Crust Tajima Wagyu cutlet, soaking in a Beef Consommé and Wasabi Pesto Sauce was a delight. And as an endnote, we indulged in a Kuri (Chestnut) Chestnut Stuffing, Mont Blanc, White Truffle Gelato Valrhona Chocolate, black truffle,

il Cielo is a hidden Gem of Italian Cuisine with Japanese flair, located in a lush setting Poolside Hilton Hotel Singapore with views of Orchard road skyline beyond. It is a glorious airconditioned/semi-alfresco restaurant setting that will indulge your senses with the highest quality produce, wines, quality and service. The restaurant has the multi talented Chef Yohhei Sasaki as Chef de Cuisine at the helm, who has introduced a new omakase menu featuring Italian flavours with unique Japanese flair starting at $158. The Omakase menu must be booked in advance of dining at il Cielo although a fine a la carte menu is available 7 days a week. Having spent 4 years honing his skills in the heart of Italy, Chef Sasaki takes you on a journey of gastronomic discovery with his personal interpretations of modern classic Italian mixed with his homeland styles and flavours. The omakase menu is full of pleasant surprises and elegant intricatacy with some dishes involving up to 8 or more defined ingredients to achieve the perfect creation for the palate. The dishes at il cielo are created with three key elements – using locally sourced natural ingredients, including edible garden articulations, seasonal Italian and Japanese gourmet produce, and handcrafted with Chef Sasaki’s refined techniques. A wine pairing is available which is highly recommended. We loved the experience and would have no hesitation in returning for yet another experience in the very near future.
