The Lounge Bar - no match for the Casino Royal A dry martini,' he said. 'One. In a deep champagne goblet.' 'Oui, monsieur.' 'Just a moment. Three measures of Gordon's, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it's ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel. Got it?' 'Certainly monsieur.' The barman seemed pleased with the idea. 'Gosh, that's certainly a drink,' said Leiter. Bond laughed. 'When I'm ... er ... concentrating,' he explained, 'I never have more than one drink before dinner. But I do like that one to be large and very strong and very cold, and very well made. I hate small portions of anything, particularly when they taste bad. This drink's my own invention. I'm going to patent it when I think of a good name. — Casino Royale, Ian Fleming Martinis are one of the easiest cocktails to make, but one of the most complicated to get right. Singapore has a few places that create a great martini - the Morton’s Mortini is one - with 100 grammes of liquor in each glass it certainly subscribes to Bond’s ideal. The Lounge Bar is located on the second floor of a restored shophouse and squirrelled away on Duxton Road - it’s very cosy with the bar being able to accommodate only a couple actually at the bar, and a few small tables add some extra seats. The cocktails were highly fluffy and intricate - the barman put in a great deal of effort and time into each. The real question is does Singapore need another bar where the cocktails are the size of a thimble, take 10 minuets to make and have all sorts of herbs and burnt oranges etc? There are already enough of these places in town. What we need is more Casino Royale style - large and very strong and very cold, and very well made. The Lounge Bar didn’t fit that bill.

Do we really need a herb inspired cocktail bar in Duxton hill. I must say that it’s starting to get a bit out of hand with the bar called the The other roof opening a few months ago with tea infused drinks Now herb infused - what next

What a awesome new establishment. With over 40 herbs flown in directly from the stunning French Alps, The Lounge Bar is the Lion City’s first drinking establishment offering such a dedicated selection of herb inspired cocktails, bringing a little slice of the alps to the Lion City.
