Published - 06 June 2019, Thursday

Huggs-Epigram Coffee Bookshop is a hidden coffee place within a bookstore focusing on Singapore authors.

Huggs-Epigram Coffee Bookshop is the one place you can get your fix of local books and brews (coffee brews, that is) at the same time.

Pick a book written by Singaporeans, published in Singapore or written about Singapore, and have some great local-style kopi too.

Don't be shy. It's time to Hold Singapore In Your Hands

What happens when cafe owners and book publishers come together? They merge their businesses and give you amazing places like Huggs-Epigram Coffee Bookshop - housing tall shelves of books as well as a cafe complete with hot brews and baked treats.

Browse through Singaporean books from genres like fiction, non-fiction, kids, young adults as well as from the publishing house themselves, Epigram.

Avid readers should check out their book-of-the-week at a discounted price and their website to get their choice of books home-delivered.

I rarely give 8/8, but here I have to! I buy a lot of book series for my children written by Singapore Authors. They are great. Even I read them.

Books written by Singaporean authors make up the majority of the space on the towering shelf. There are also books by authors from around Southeast Asia and the world, but they are either published by a local publisher or written about Singapore.

Other local publishers apart from Epigram, such as Math Paper Press, also have their books featured at the new coffee bookshop. You can find international bestsellers like Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan displayed on the shelf.
